Give it a name introduces

The bend to break album by The Color Fred

A picture taken of me with Fred after the gig in Ifor Bach.

Our Emedy has always been a big fan of covering songs from the famous taking back sunday, but when i heard that Fred (the second vocalist) of Taking Back Sunday is leaving the band to start on a new project, it left me disappointed but i was happy for him as he stated in a magazine called the ALTERNATIVE PRESS or also known as (AP) that he has always wanted to pursue his own band for awhile now. So a week later his album came out and the name of his band is The Color Fred. I started listening to it on myspace and i stumbled across his first album at one of the record shop in town, the spiller records shop. I bought the album and started listening to it, and im very happy to say i like his songs. Its very much different to those made in TBS but its a start for Fred.

Untill recently, my friend from Cardiff, Umie told me that The Color Fred is coming to Cardiff with Mayday Parade. The two bands that i am very much in love with. I was excited and so i bought the tickets to their gig in a local bar called the ifor bach in Town. i bought the tickets for a merely 5 pound as beind qouted from Doze's blog.. He didnt have to go to an ATM machine to buy them. Yes it that cheap i'd say to watch two amazing bands at once for the price of 15 Brunei dollars. Well the featuring bands in the tour was also FOUR YEARS STRONG and also MEG AND DIA. Meg and Dia was knew to me, but when they came on stage. My first impression was wow, and how come i never heard of this band before. Their songs are amazing and very nice to listen to...practically danced to their songs with my hands tied to my waist as the crowd was huge during the gig.

And then came the Color Fred to perform. I was very much excited, adrenaline rushed to the head when he picked up his Gibson Les Paul guitar, my god that guitar is awesome. He had a really nice one. I want that guitar but unfortunately i cant afford it yet. The twist is when i was on my way to the club ifor bach (an hour prior to the gig) i was going to withdraw money and guess who just stepped out of the club to grab a bite? yes it was Fred!!! i spoke to him and we took a picture together. He is one awesome guy, very nice. Later during Fred's performances, i sang to all of the songs he sang. Im a big fan. The thing is i noticed that i was the only one who knew the words to his songs, the people around me was just standing and listening to him and how he makes his guitar weeps.

At the end of the gig, everybody was ready to go home, Fred came up to me and said, Hey man i saw u singing to my songs. i said yea i was im a really big fan, i was already a fan when u were in TBS, and then he said thanks man. Wow, i had a conversation with him. I still cant believe that i actually talked to him in person. C'mon he is like an idol to me. That conversation left me with a big smile through out the whole night. Boy 'o' boy what a night.

Anyways... Props Fred.. Mayday Parade and Meg and Dia.. u rocked my world. Hope to catch more of their gigs in the time to come.
